Composite Phase-to-Phase Spacer

Composite Phase-to-Phase Spacer, also known as an Interphase Spacer, is a line hardware device used on overhead transmission and distribution lines to keep phase conductors properly separated under wind, ice, galloping, and other dynamic conditions. Built with a fiberglass rod core, silicone rubber housing, and conductor-matched clamps and fittings, it helps prevent phase contact, flashover, strand damage, and outages. These spacers are commonly customized by voltage class, span length, conductor size, and pollution level, and can be installed in horizontal or vertical arrangements for distribution or transmission applications.

Product Accessories

Conductor clamps are a core accessory, with options such as suspension clamps, K-Clamp™ styles, and adjustable riser arrangements depending on whether the application is distribution or transmission duty.

Armour rods may be added where required to reduce strand fatigue and suit the conductor clamping arrangement.

End fittings / couplings are available in multiple configurations, and some product families can be coupled with silicone-rubber-covered rods to extend overall spacer length.

Live-line installation hardware such as eye nut or eye bolt options is offered on selected designs to support energized-line work.

Grading rings are used on higher-voltage installations, with one source noting their use on 132 kV systems and above.
